"I want to replace my Blu-ray player with new my Nvidia Shield console tablet as my movie watching device. I try to hook a USB driver and USB Samsung BD player to the tablet to play Blu-ray DVD disc. I could play Blu-ray DVD ISO files, but I don't want do that, I want to watch the disc itself. Perhaps, USB Blu-ray/DVD drive and player is not supported by the tablet, any alternative solutions? I don't want to buy a separate player just for the disc."

To play Blu-ray/DVD disc on Nvidia Shield Tablet, the best and simple solution is to rip/convert Blu-ray/DVD to Nvidia Shield playable formats listed above. If you Blu-ray/DVD disc are home made, download Handbrake to make a conversion. However, commercial Blu-ray/DVD disc will need a encryption tool like Pavtube BDMagic (Get Mac version) to get rid off the copy protection and region restrictions for further converting or copying steps.
