MX Player removes support for AC3/DTS
In Recent version of MX Player DTS & DOLBY audio codec supports are removed from the official MX-Player. If your video has dts/dtshd/ac3/eac3/mlp audio tracks it won't play any audio. Only video will be played. To help you get full AC3 DTS audio codec support in MX Player, we will introduc 2 simple workarounds that will get things working again in below article:
Download a custom-built codec and pointing to MX Player
Restoring a full audio codec of AC3 and DTS support in MXPlayer is pretty simple. Just download a custom-built codec and point MX Player to the right file. You can find the downloading links and instructions in this thread on XDA. There are several different architectures supported, and each has been broken up into individual files. The architecture for each device can be found by opening MX Player and going to theoverflow menu -> Settings -> Decoder, and scrolling down to the bottom where the Download custom codec item details the correct type. Alternatively, there is an "AIO Pack" available with all of the different architectures bundled together, but it is a larger download. Place the file on internal storage, and tap on Custom codec (also in the Decoder screen) to point MX Player to the plugin. After a restart, the codec should be installed and working. To confirm, just go to the overflow menu -> Help -> About, and look for the "Custom codec" line near the top.
While these extra steps aren't quite as convenient as a simple download from the Play Store, it's not too much trouble to get things back in working order. Let's just hope this is a fairly isolated incident and other video players won't have to make similar compromises.
Alternative way to fix MX Player AC3 DTS audio playback issues

Step 2: Choose output video file format.
Click the "Format" bar, from its drop-down list, choose one of MX Player supported video format such as avi, wmv, mp4, mkv, mpeg, mov, vob, divx, xvid, 3gp, mkv, flv, webm, etc to output.
Step 3: Adjust output audio codec.
Click "Settings" to open "Profile" settings window, in "Audio" section, click "Codec" drop-down list, select MX Player playable AAC codec to output.
Step 4: Carry out the conversion.
Go back to the main UI and click "Convert"button to start AC3/DTS to MX Player playable AAC audio codec.
When the conversion is completed, click "Open Output Folder" on the main interface to pop out the folder with your converted files, you will then have no problem to play AC3/DTS with MX Player on your Android phone.
