XAVC S are now supported by the newer Vegas Pro version?

I've got a client who wants to shoot using Sony's XAVC S codec and this will be the first time I've used it. Been hearing stories of editing issues concerning XAVC S not easily importing in Sony Vegas Pro.
Anyone know if this has been resolved by newer Vegas Pro versions?
I just read a page off Sony's site saying the new Vegas Pro NLE software will support XAVC: "Vegas Pro natively supports XAVC and XAVC S files as well as RED ONE and RED EPIC files".

Can anyone attest that it's working or do you have to convert the XAVC S before you can edit in Vegas?
Thanks in advance!
